Dear Friend,
The children of Scottsdale schools need your help. Simply put, many of our buildings are run down; several of our middle schools are over 50 years old. In November votes in the Scottsdale Unified School District will be asked to approve a bond measure which will be dedicated to rebuilding and remodeling 7 middle schools in the district with the goals of increasing safety, efficiency and academic programming support for our children, our future.
This measure is vital - not only to the future of the school district, but to our entire community. Everything - from the value of your home to the ability to attract new business and high-value employment - hinges on the quality of our schools. In other words, good schools yield dividends for every taxpayer.
THERE IS NO IMPACT ON YOUR PROPERTY TAX RATE if this bond passes, due to the district's responsible management of past taxation measures. This responsible stewardship has resulted in SUSD having the best bond rating of any public entity in Arizona. Wit construction costs and interest rates at historic lows, now is the right time to BUILD For Our Future.
Still, winning voter approval requires hard work and a information campaign that lays out the facts, especially the benefits to every taxpayer. By law, district resources cannot be used to influence the outcome of the election. For that reason we hope you will contribute to an effort to get the word out.
